Soil - the basis of life on earth.
The word Permaculture comes from “Permanence” and “Agriculture”.
Permaculture mimics natural ecosystems to create resilient, abundant food systems.
By observing how forests and wetlands thrive, we design landscapes that build soil,
capture water, and grow stronger every year—without constant inputs or intervention.

We’re based on beautiful Orcas Island, Washington, and serve the Salish Sea region—
from the San Juan Islands to the greater Puget Sound and beyond.
This is where we live, work, and steward land. We design with the unique ecosystems,
climate, and character of the Pacific Northwest in mind.

„I’ve always felt deeply connected to the natural world.
Growing up, I was troubled by the way we reshape landscapes—
clearing what’s already thriving to build something that works against the land instead of with it.
Permaculture gives me a way to contribute to something different.
A way back to harmony with the systems that sustain us.“
In modern agriculture we have lost touch with natural systems.
It goes against the laws of nature and degrades and destroys soil at an alarming rate.Soil - the basis of life on earth.
The word Permaculture comes from “Permanence” and “Agriculture”.
Permaculture mimics natural ecosystems to create resilient, abundant food systems.By observing how forests and wetlands thrive, we design landscapes that build soil, capture water, and grow stronger every year—without constant inputs or intervention.Whether you run a homestead, a community garden, a farm or an institution, you can grow food - a smart design makes it possible anywhere. This is how we regenerate land and live in harmony with nature.

JAY! Success! Let‘s grow together!
What's the project?
Task was to transform a pure flower farm into a permaculture veggie farm on half the land. People should be able to harvest themselves and pay as they go.What did we do here?
Based on the space available we built a plan for a variety of crops including high beds, raised lines, buckets and greenhouse for year round production. Integrating irrigation with permacultural principles was one of the main topics. What was the goal?
A communal veggie garden where people could come and harvest themselves what they need and leave what they could, or 'trade' help in the garden for veggies. What came out?
∙ 30 different kinds of crops
∙ a source of high quality local produce
∙ community meeting and gardening place
∙ a healthy and resilient piece of land
